Testimonials
I think it's important that you hear from some of my athletes how work with me has been. I've been incredibly lucky to work with some amazing athletes and I am confident I will work with many more in the future but I want to share what some of my athletes have got to say..
I've treated every athlete as an individual as I believe in coaching the whole person and not just the athlete. This is something that I have always encouraged as everyone has a different approach and a different goal.
There's no "One Size Fits All" and I hope this shows in the testimonials below.
Lloyd Williams - Target Race: UK Ultimate - Full Distance:
I started working with Ken 5 months out from my first full distance triathlon and second ever triathlon. At that point my swimming could only be described as child-like and my cycling legs were non existent. I had no idea how to structure my training or how to improve on the swim and bike. We talked through my strengths, (none) weaknesses (all) and goals (to finish), and Ken put in place a really well structured plan to improve in all areas.
Ken's plan was perfect for me, it was tough but doable, and I quickly saw improvements and it became addictive. Half way through the block i PB'd at Boston marathon, then worked hard on my cycling with Ken's zwift sessions and upped the swimming volume. The best thing about Ken's coaching is that things were completely flexible, if I had work meetings or social events we worked around it, and I never got a telling off for accidentally having 10 pints. It felt like we were a team and it was great having Ken in my corner. By sticking to the plan I ended up coming 5th in the UK Ultimate Triathlon going sub 11 on my first attempt. I have no doubt at all that this was only possible with Ken's plan (legend), thank you!
Olivia Stock - Target Race: Outlaw Holkham 70.3:
Having just over a year of training without a coach, I was looking for the knowledge and guidance of someone experienced to help take my training to the next level with two races in mind this year, Box End Standard and Outlaw Holkham 70.3.
Ken’s communication was great throughout, in both the initial calls, where he asked plenty of questions about my life outside of triathlon to understand how to make training work the best it could, and the ongoing communication throughout the process. As well as looking at the data, he regularly asked me how I have found the sessions to get an answer from me as well and ensure I was avoiding any burnout.
There were sessions that pushed me beyond where I would have pushed myself which was extremely beneficial for my performance. I’ve seen huge improvements in my swim and bike which were the two of my weaker disciplines, I’m faster and also far more confident in my ability in both. Ken also make notes about the purpose of each session/week which I found interesting and helpful.
I’m looking forward to working with Ken for my future events, it is really important to work with someone knowledgeable and experienced in order to develop your own abilities as efficiently and enjoyably as possible!
